Dun Laoghaire Golf Club - Upper Course
[Co. Dublin]
Starting 9 is the Upper Course, second 9 will be allocated on arrival at the golf club.
Dun Laoghaire Golf Club sits perfectly between the mountains and the sea in Ballyman Glen, a uniquely beautiful valley on the border of Counties Dublin and Wicklow. The 27-hole championship course has been designed to allow different combinations of the three nine hole courses to be played. For the professional and amateur golfer alike, a thrilling experience awaits, with the wonderfully inspiring backdrop of the Wicklow mountains.
The club was recently selected to be the host venue for The Curtis Cup in 2016, when the best amateur lady golfers from Great Britain & Ireland take on their counterparts from the USA, in a 3-day team competition.
The three nine hole courses start and finish close to the clubhouse. The championship courses, played from the blue tees, range from 6,281 to 6,543 metres. And with five sets of tees, the course offers a challenge for every level of golfing ability.
The USGA standard greens are large, with some being 40 metres long. The course layout, and cleverly located hazards ensure that golfers must consider a number of factors when planning the next shot. Each hole offers a new challenge.
The course is complemented by a state of the art Golf Academy, with a driving range and an extensive practice facility, allowing golfers to hone their skills before putting them to the test on the course.
The 5-star Clubhouse has spacious locker rooms, and excellent dining and bar facilities, along with meeting rooms, and a fully stocked Professional’s shop.
