Golf Courses:

The Championship Course on the Farnham Estate is a stunning parkland course, spread out over 500 acres of rolling meadows and dense woodland. Farnham Estate Golf Course has been ranked 26th Parkland Course in the top 100 courses in Ireland (Golf Digest Ireland 2012).

Designed by Jeff Howes, there's plenty of contrast between the back and front nine. The front nine is gentle but challenging, with undulating meadows, whilst the back nine is a more vigorous test of golf, travelling as it does through more dense woodland. Bunkers are well positioned and, in the main, large and dead flat. Greens are a near-perfect texture, allowing for a variety of pin positions, and the contours are interesting but sensible.

A long course by any standard, measuring 7,065 yards off the blue tees, there are buggy paths throughout to ensure year-long play and optimum enjoyment of Farnham. A meandering stream and no less than seven lakes add to the challenge.

From Dublin: Farnham Estate Golf & Spa Resort is ideally located just outside Cavan town. From Dublin follow the M50 to exit 6 coming from north or south, slip on to the N3 and follow the signs for Co. Cavan. Enter onto the M3 and drive to Cavan town, simply follow the signs for Radisson Blu Farnham Estate. Your journey from junction 6 should take you not more than 75 minutes.
