Dunmurry Springs Golf Club  [Co. Kildare]

Located just a few miles form the Curragh Racecourse, Dunmurry Springs offers a classic yet contemporary, challenging and therapeutic golfing experience. Dunmurry Springs is becoming renowned as a ‘Real Golfers Golf Course’. The prestigious US Golfer Magazine voted this course one of the 10 Best New courses in Europe in 2005.

The layout of the course is such that it brings the golfer through a series of tests. Skill, tactics, and bravery reward those that give the course the respect it deserves. Every hole has its own dangers but with skill they are playable by all abilities. Multiple tee positions facilitate all categories of golfer, with the championship tee positions demanding exceptional strategic shot making. It is difficult to pick out a signature hole as so many have merit, but watch out for the lake fronted 3rd, the dog-leg par-5 6th, the links-like 8th and monster 10th. Also enjoy the watery splendours of the knee-trembling 11th and 15th.

The Clubhouse overlooks the 9th & 18th greens, the 1st fairway, and the Spring Water Lake. The building is designed to cater for all the requirements of a modern day clubhouse. While being somewhat contemporary in design, it also remains in keeping with the surrounding landscape. The bar, which overlooks the lake, the 1st tee and the 18th green, is an ideal setting to unwind after 18 holes.

Directions

Dunmurry Springs Golf Course is situated 2 miles north of Kildare town on the R401 – midway between Kildare and Rathangan. The mast on Dunmurry Hill is a good landmark.

Located 30 minutes from the M50 Red Cow Roundabout. Follow the M7 from Dublin past Naas and Newbridge. Leave the M7 at the Kildare exit, signposted for Kildare and Nurney. Follow directions into Kildare town. >From the main crossoads, take a left turn and follow the road until you reach the next set of traffic lights. From here take a left on to the main Rathangan road (R401). Dunmurry Springs is 2 miles from this point. This road takes you under a railway bridge, past a graveyard on your left and around a series of bends before the road straightens and you see the Golf Course set out on your right hand side.
