Royal Tara Golf Club, nestling under the historic Hill of Tara, is regarded in Irish golfing circles as one of the country’s hidden gems. The 27-hole tree lined complex, situated in Co. Meath, comprises three individual 9-hole complexes, each with their own unique attractions, which allows the Club the flexibility to host member and visitor alike with an 18-hole selection to suit the needs of all.

The Club, which celebrated its Centenary in 2006, originally started life as an intimate 9-hole entity, expanded in the late 1960’s and, again in the late 1990’s, to its current stature as one of Ireland’s finest parkland golf destinations. In tandem with that development, the Club opened a new state-of- the-art Clubhouse in 2000 which is rightly regarded as one of the finest in Ireland, and which hosts all the amenities which to-day’s golfer rightly regards as essential.

The current 27-hole complex was designed Irish International  star, Des Smyth. The result is all-year round sand based greens and tees on a lay-out that requires use of every club in the bag. The outstanding design element of the courses at Royal Tara is its unique tree lined fairways which provide a most picturesque framing, and discerning challenge to all 27 holes.

Royal Tara proudly boasts a unique bar and catering service and a resident PGA professional in John Byrne, himself a former Irish youth international, to ensure the needs of all visitors to the Club are catered for in the most professional manner.

Royal Tara is located approximately 25 miles north of Dublin city in the heart of Co. Meath. New M3 Motorway has opened, Exit at Junction 7 signposted Skyrne/Johnstown. Turn left off national primary route N3 at signpost about 7 miles the Navan side of Dunshaughlin. Allow driving time of about 50 minutes from Dublin city centre, or 40 minutes from Dublin airport.
